1. Use Evites

Take advantage of our tech savvy world that we live in, and send invitations to your guests electronically. This not only will save you hundreds of dollars, but it will also make RSVP’s so much easier. With the click of a button, you can send out invitations to your rehearsal dinner, the ceremony, and the reception.

2. Let your family and friends help

The number one way to save money is by letting people you already personally know help you with your wedding details. Most of us know someone who is talented when it comes to food, flowers, or decor. There is no reason to spend extra money hiring people, if you already have people who are willing to help you out on your big day.

3. Consider having breakfast foods at your reception

Having breakfast foods served at your reception is extremely cost effective. Keep it simple. You can serve grits, eggs, a choice of meat, and biscuits. If you and your future husband are big breakfast fans, I highly recommend having a breakfast bar for your guests. Breakfast also allows for fun horderves such as french toast sticks in a shot glass with maple syrup or waffle cones with yogurt and fruit. Rather than having a cake for your guests, stick with the breakfast theme and serve donuts instead. This will allow the bride or groom cake to be smaller, and less expensive than the average wedding cake. Your guests will love it!

4. Use a created playlist instead of a DJ

Having a good DJ could cost you over $500 just for the night, and for some people it is totally worth it. If you are not into spending this much money on a DJ, you can still have a great time on the dance floor. Plan out the playlist before, and have someone who knows how to work a phone run it for the night. It is also a good way to make someone feel special by including them in your special night.

5. Let a friend do your flower arrangements

Knowing what flowers you want at your wedding is really important because some flowers are way more expensive than others. I also would recommend having a friend or small business arranging them for you. If not, you will spend thousands of dollars on flowers that will simply be thrown away after the night is over.

6. Hire a cheap photographer

Having a good photographer is of utmost importance at your wedding. This is one of the biggest moments of your life, and you want to document the day. I would recommend finding someone, such as a friend or family member that does not have outrageous pricing. It also makes the day more enjoyable when you have a photographer who knows your style and what you like.

7. Have you or a friend do the bridal party’s makeup

Having a friend do you and your bridal party’s hair and makeup is the way to go. We all know people who are talented in this area. If you are unsure about them getting it just right, you can always have them do several test runs before your big day.
