Adding your personal flare is important in everything you do, so why not emphasize it during a time as important as your wedding day? There are plenty of fun, easy ways to make your wedding stand out from the rest, and become truly memorable for you and all who were a part of it. Imagine your family and friends lighting up with smiles when they recognize your unique spin that you’ve put on classic traditions.
One memorable touch that will be especially fun for you and your fiancé, is to create personalized table numbers, where each number represents something significant for you. This could be the day of the month that you got engaged, the number of days that you’ve been together, or other cute ways to incorporate numbers. This will make the guests feel more included in your wedding if they get to learn more about the couple, instead of just having arbitrary numbers.
Create a custom aisle runner by embellishing it using chalk or fabric paint. This can be a line from a favorite poem, or a timeline of your love story for example. Another idea is to dress it up in a way that reflects the wedding venue. If you’re having a beach wedding, sprinkle sea glass, sands, or shells along your runner.
Instead of throwing rice as you exit the ceremony, have guests wave ribbons or play noisemakers so your departure is more lively and festive. If it’s an evening ceremony, you can leave sparklers on the seats for your guests to light up the night with! If you’re having more of a casual ceremony, guests can blow bubbles for a no clean, but fun and lighthearted celebration.
Have your guests compile letters written to you and your fiancé and seal them in a time capsule to open in the future. This will be like a guestbook that you get to enjoy years into your marriage and reminisce on together. Or write letters to each other and seal them in a box that you open during an argument or a time that you want to remember exactly how you were feeling on your wedding day.
These are only a few examples of the many ways that you can personalize your wedding to make it a time truly about you and your fiancé. Ditch the ordinary styles and traditions and go for something that will make your guests feel more involved in your special day. That way, it will be a day filled with lasting memories for everyone that was a part of it.
