Jesse and Jessica are a “high school sweethearts” to “married couple” success story. Since the two began dating, I believe all of their friends and family knew that this was a relationship that wasn’t going to end. Seeing them together, all the oddly similar interests and corny jokes being swapped, there was no way that their story wouldn’t have a happy ending. Jesse and Jessica were dating for six years before getting married on August 18, 2018. I’ve never seen my friend as beautiful, radiant, and happy as she was on her wedding day.

The Venue

Jesse and Jessica got married at Gratis Gates Community Center right outside of Athens, Georgia in Monroe. The venue is very new and was built just before they had the ceremony there. When arriving at the venue there is a good bit of parking in the yard at the front. Your guests can be directed, but there’s a lot of room to park where you want if you’d like to give your guests that freedom! On site, the venue includes a beautiful, small chapel as well as a separate bridal suite and a reception hall. Jessica told me that the venue offered a very affordable flat fee for Friday through Sunday, which you almost never see in the wedding industry. Along with the inclusive bridal suite and reception hall, tables and chairs are also provided during the reception. This venue will be sure to save you a lot of money.

Saving Money

Jesse and Jessica did an amazing job saving tons of money for their wedding day, and you can too! Jessica made all of her own bridal bouquets as mentioned in one of my recent posts “DIY Ideas for Your Wedding Day”. She also took the bold step of creating her own centerpieces and YES, it paid off! Jessica got her dress on a super sale from David’s Bridal and since she bought her wedding dress there, she got a major discount on her bridesmaids’ dresses as well! Jesse and his groomsmen bought regular khakis and got their button down shirts from Belk. The guys also wore suspenders that were around just $2.00 a piece! If that’s not an amazing way to shop for your wedding, then I don’t know what is! For the reception Jesse and Jessica hired a friend they knew to DJ and the party was poppin’!

The Food

Jesse and Jessica had a delicious buffet at their wedding! It consisted of barbeque pork and chicken, potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans, and more. Everything tasted so amazing, and the best part was that she saved a ton of money on her food as well! Jessica’s mom, along with Jesse’s mom and grandmother, made all the fixins to go with the barbeque that was catered by Fresh Air. This way, they didn’t have to hire anyone to serve food or make it which saved them a ton of money. They also saved money by shopping at Sam’s Club. They got a lot of the food as well as plates, napkins, utensils, and cups all from Sam’s Club at super low prices. We should all be taking lessons from this amazing couple!

Photography

Jesse and Jessica used a photographer local to Social Circle, Georgia who does a lot of work in surrounding areas including Athens, Georgia. Samantha Ansley was the couple’s wedding photographer. She also took their engagement photos. Samantha did an amazing job making everyone feel comfortable during the day while in front of the camera, and she delivered some amazing photos, a few of which are featured in this post! She also offered the couple a very reasonable price giving them one more area to save money! You can check out more of Samantha’s photography on her blog, and you can check out Jesse and Jessica’s wedding photos HERE!

I was one of the bridesmaids at this wedding so I’m speaking from first-hand knowledge when I say it was absolutely beautiful. They were able to save a lot of money while keeping things classy and cute. I couldn’t have imagined it any other way! Jessica said “If I had to sum up the whole experience, I would say it really was everything I wanted it to be. I’m pretty low-key and I really just wanted to keep everything simple and nice. That’s really what it was: a nice, simple wedding where at the end of the day, I still get to spend forever with the love of my life! With that in mind, I was sure to not go overboard, and everything just fell into place!”
