As many of our readers know, we are so excited for the opportunity to be partnered with The NotWedding for their upcoming show on Thursday, August 21st at The Classic Center, located in the heart of downtown Athens.

For those of you who may not be familiar with The NotWedding, it is a bridal show alternative in the form of a big, fake wedding. The NotWedding team travels across the country to put on shows in cities such as Charleston, Cape Cod, Chicago and many more! At the event, you will expect to see dozens of well- known vendors that have made a wonderful name for themselves in the wedding industry, a real- life couple renewing their vows (the bride and groom), and guests (future brides and grooms) soaking in all the fun and unique experiences they couldn’t get anywhere else.

So, without further ado, here are the top 3 reasons why YOU should attend The NotWedding in just a few short weeks!

1. The spectacular vendors

Just like a marriage, it takes a team to make the dream! The lovely vendors that participate in The NotWedding have been working to prepare their product all year, in hopes to make everything perfect for this event. Without them, The NotWedding couldn’t survive! Here are just a few vendors that have caught our eye at Weddings in Athens:

Puddleduck Paper Co.

These vendors serve a huge purpose at The NotWedding. They are there not only there for their own publicity, but also to provide information about their brand for the guests (future brides and grooms). Near the end of the event, guests are encouraged to visit each vendor and chat with the experts themselves! During this time, guests have the opportunity to get contact information, sample pieces, expert advice, and most importantly build personal relationships with the vendor. They are just as excited to share their product with you, as you are to see what they have created!

2. Inspiration for the guests

As you know, the guests at The NotWedding will primarily be future brides and grooms searching for a bit of inspiration for their own wedding. Although the event is not an actual real wedding, the bride and groom renewing their vows is most certainly a real, happily married couple. Because of this, the event will be genuine. This makes it easier for the guests to pay attention to the small details that go into planning a wedding such as traditional vows vs. personal vows, decorations, wedding cake vs. alternative dessert, etc.

It also gives the guests a good idea of what to expect on their wedding day. For example, the feelings the future bride will have when watching the bride walk down the isle at The NotWedding will be 10x more exciting and emotional when she is walking down the isle at her own wedding.

The guests are sure to see many components of a wedding they will want in their own. However, there may be a few things they don’t want as well. And hey, that’s certainly alright because that’s the whole point of the event! The NotWedding aims to inspire the guests, and that’s exactly what they’ll do.

3. It’s just a darn good time!

Following the ceremony there will be a fun-filled dance party reception! During this reception the vendors will show off their product, and guests will have that special opportunity I mention earlier to talk with them. The guests will celebrate the bride and groom on their renewed vows by dancing the night away in The Classic City!
