With Bridal Fashion Week quickly approaching, the talk of the bridal industry is all about Spring 2020 wedding dress trends. The hottest and most coveted wedding dress styles are being released for Spring 2020 to debut during NYFW: Bridal from October 3-6, and this is not something to be ignored. Many of you may be starting to plan for your Spring wedding and, in turn, starting to daydream and narrow down your favorite dress styles. In my opinion, and many others, it is best to start looking for the perfect dress early to make the right decision. Whether or not you want to splurge on a fabulous designer wedding dress, or just get inspiration from the top wedding designers of all time, this post will explore several fabulous trends for Spring 2020.

One very unique wedding dress trend for Spring 2020 is to have a feathered accent on your dress. This trend can range from a small feather trim or headpiece to a full feathered bodice.  This trend has been seen in the Spring 2020 designs of many of the world’s hottest designers and will be highly talked about in NYFW Bridal shows in October. Look out for designs by Oscar de la Renta, Zuhair Murad, and Naeem Khan in Bridal Fashion Week for some feathery inspiration!

Lace All Over

Another beautiful and extremely feminine trend for Spring 2020 is all over lace and crochet detailing on wedding dresses. This could be applied to sleeves, bodices, skirts, or whatever else you may want to add lace to! A great way to show beautiful lace accents is through a style called “tattoo lace” that is usually used on sleeves or to cover the chest or back. This style has been used before but will be making a comeback and has already been seen in new designs by Mira Zwillinger and Oscar de la Renta.

Capes and Trains Galore

Long, show stopping capes and trains have recently become very big in the bridal industry and we’re not complaining! If you are looking to make a statement, an intricate cape is the way to go. This is also a great idea if you want the long sheer tulle draped over you to replace a traditional veil. We have seen these capes and veils on bridal jumpsuits as well; a new trend on the rise. These styles have been seen in new collections by designers such as Sébastian Luke and Carolina Herrera.

‘70s Accents

A new, more playful style for next spring is the addition of a little 70s flair to your wedding dress.  This is great if you love a vintage look in a more modern style. Accents such as fringe and gathered jumpsuits create a fun and unique 70s look to show off as you walk down the aisle. If you are a lover of parachute pants or a white fringe mini, then this is the trend for you! Keep in mind this can be done with subtle accents if you aren’t trying to make a huge statement with your dress and want to keep it more traditional.  Check out these new styles by Oscar de la Renta and Viktor & Rolf for some disco inspo.

Hopefully, these insights on upcoming bridal trends will help you on your wedding planning journey!
