Divided into 5 sections, the Founders Garden is a 2.5 acre site that features an array of beautiful trees and plants along with areas of bricks and stone and small pathways. This area holds great history as it honors the founders of the American garden club movement as well as pays tribute to those who served in the US army. In the spring, the Founders Garden blooms with bright and colorful rose vines as well. This is a fun spot to learn about Athens history as well as have a photoshoot with a variety of greenery to add a tasteful nature feel to your engagement photos.

The Iron Horse

No Athenian should go without visiting the Iron Horse. Located right outside of the Athens area in Watkinsville, Ga, the Iron Horse stands as a perfect site for harmonious engagement photos and a perfect golden hour spot. If you’re looking for more of a nature feel to your photos, this is the spot for you. Here, you can adventure out and utilize the vast landscape to your advantage!

UGA North Campus 

Whether it’s the UGA Chapel Bell, the Herty Fountain, or the Greek Revival architecture, UGA’s North Campus has it all. With traditional Athens scenery, as well as simple landscaped gardens with trees and flowers surrounding it, taking your engagement photos on North Campus is never a wrong choice. UGA’s North campus also connects to downtown Athens with the Arch,  so if you’re up for it, you have both locations all in one!

Thomas Orchards 

Located right outside of Athens, Thomas Orchards in Bishop, Ga is a simple yet sweet spot for an engagement photoshoot. What once was a fruit stand selling peaches picked fresh from the trees is now a gorgeous greenhouse and nursery where you can also buy peaches, plants, outdoor pottery and more! Here, you can relax, have a fabulous photoshoot, and enjoy some homemade ice cream afterwards.

UGA Sanford Stadium

Lastly, whether you’re a student, alumna, or just a die hard Dawgs fan, choosing Sanford Stadium is a perfect spot for you. Here, you can welcome in the game-day atmosphere and celebrate the football culture of the University of Georgia.
