I got the chance to ask her a few questions about her journey and her work:

When did you get started in wedding photography and what sparked your interest in it?

“I had dabbled in wedding photography before, but the very first wedding I ever did made me not like it. There was so much drama, and the clients were not about it.  A few years later I flew to California to do a second shoot with my friend and fell in love with weddings all over again. I started taking on more second shooting jobs and decided I was too in love to stop now and started taking on my own weddings.; zero regrets, and so happy I gave them a second chance!”

What has your experience as a wedding photographer been like?

“My experiences through the years have been up and down, of course. Shooting weddings always leaves me on this happy high, and getting to connect with people is the best! However, I’m also an extroverted introvert so after it’s over I need to go home and just be silent and hide for a bit.I wouldn’t trade it for anything though. Those moments I get to be a part of are just mind-blowing, and I’ve made so many lifelong friendships!”

What have you learned throughout the years?

“Through the years I’ve learned that you need to go with the flow and have an easy-going demeanor. Your clients look to you for help a lot and if they see YOU stressed or worried, it’ll kick their worries up a notch. Keep calm, everything does work out, and no wedding ever runs on time. Also, learn to pin boutonnières because almost every groomsman doesn’t know how.”

Describe your photo aesthetic in 3 words.

“This is a hard one! But I’ve been described as a warm, intimate, moody photographer.”

What are your favorite wedding shots to take?

“My favorite shots to take are veil photos for sure or any couples photos, especially if they’re down to let me have free creative moments. I also dig detail shots, and first looks. Anything emotional makes me emotional too.”

Do you have any advice for brides who are searching for a wedding photographer?

“My advice is that while using your best friend’s sister as a photographer may seem like an amazing deal and such a great idea, most  of the time, it’s not. I say this with utter sweetness because everyone deserves the best photos. I’ve had clients tell me they were going with a family friend and then come back months later so upset because that person didn’t know how to properly expose, missed special moments, had so many out of focus shots, or sometimes they just don’t show up. TRUE STORY Y’ALL. It happens. Also, don’t try and trick a photographer into shooting your wedding for a session price! It’s not fair to us and we show up completely unprepared and without all the equipment we bring for weddings!  Also, relax! Enjoy your day baby!”

What is your favorite part of your work?

“My favorite part/s (because I can never choose) are the day of the wedding because I get to see everything, be a part of it all, and become friends with people. I legit cry during weddings or special moments. Like, I totally have teared up numerous times. I’m a sucker for love y’all.”

What’s the most interesting/memorable moment you’ve witnessed at a wedding?

“Okay so most memorable- there’s a few but I’ll just pick one.I got to ride in a helicopter with the bride and groom over Atlanta! Literally so cool. I even forgot about being scared of heights.”
